accepting yourself

When two become one

My Father(God)has been really ministering to my heart lately. I have come to a place in my soul where I have stopped trying to make it happen and have cast myself upon Him.

Something I have been hearing through all sorts of different sources is that we cannot take ourselves into the “Promised Land”God does it. After hearing that message three times in as many days I had agreed with God that He has to do it cause I can’t–God knows I have tried and tried!!

So I was driving a few days back and my spirit alerted my suffering soul to a snippet of Taylor Swift singing on my car radio

“Dreamin’ ’bout the day when you wake up and find
That what you’re looking for has been here the whole time
If you could see that I’m the one who understands you
Been here all along, so why can’t you see
You belong with me
You belong with me”

My Father is wooing me from inside me and also from inside others.

Of course Taylor’s angle with her song is that she is the one for the young man, not the other flashy girl. But what a message!!!

All our time on this planet we seem to be searching “out there” for our true sense of identity. And not just in things like our career or the things we do, but closer to home, our soul.

For if we look out from our spirit person the soul is there in all prominence saying back to us “I am who you are.” The soul captures our attention and hogs the limelight taking centre stage all the time. The soul says I have always been in charge I have always been the real you.

But we have found that over the years she(our soul)is an unfaithful partner and an untrustworthy leader.

Our trouble is that we have not known our self after the spirit. We have really thought that the true me is this soul person out in front. So we have identified our self as this soul. Your soul may be a kind soul, lazy soul, proud soul, even tempered soul, melancholy, sad soul, brilliant soul, etc etc….but for all that it is not the true you.

The true you is deeper than soul.

Have you ever been swimming in the ocean on a windy day and ducked beneath the surface, swimming down as far as your breath will allow? From the surface where the waves are moving and the wind is blowing you enter another world where all is peaceful and still.

The spirit is deep—the soul is shallow. It might try to appear to be deep by practicing certain techniques….but the spirit does not have to do anything to be deep–it simply is.

Learning that the thing we have wanted so much has been with us the whole time is a wonderful unveiling which the Father does in us as we give Him permission. And once we begin to see this treasure within that we ARE and begin to identify solidly with this deep place as being the true me….then there is no going back to live on the surface again.

Well not in the old way anyway.

When we have soaked in the brilliant love and acceptance of our Inner Person we are set free from the surface so that we can go to the surface as a new being with with the treasures of the Deep.

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

The soul is not deep enough to be our true self

In the DEEP God dwells

And from that deep place in us He fills us full with Himself so that we feel Him and know Him to a certain extent with our soulish senses….but we do not know Him like our spirit knows Him.

The two have become one in the deep places —in the heavenly places out of reach—in a different world than can be reached by the soul.

A place of love and acceptance

Of perfect acceptance

From that deep place we are energised to go forth to the surface creatures and show them their true identity too.

    • Yeah isnt Father wonderful…He even likes pop music!? hahahaha Her song just keeps speaking to me still today. And even her video too. The sensual girl Taylor plays so well in that clip…is like the outer man we all try to find our identity inside of. And the young man is also taken by the outer things and falls for her outer charms……and the Spirit within is gently waiting saying I am the one who has been here for you all along….I am not all jazzed up and sultry boy…but I satisfy more than all that outer glitz can ever satisfy your soul.

      • Yes!! He is AMAZINGLY creative in using what we are already seeing, hearing, and feeling in the world around us to speak in such a personal, understandable way! It gives me joy to hear about you connecting with Him this way. And aaaaamen about Him satisfying our soul incomparably more than any of that glitz!
