Ashes to Ashes

Ashes to Ashes

Everyday I am covered by the blood
A blanket to comfort my soul
A clean sheet to start anew at every given moment that I draw breath,
Our breath, His breath, His very self mingled with my own.

Everyday I am shriven, my trespasses are but ash transformed by the renewing of my mind
The mind of Christ.

Everyday I walk the way He has prepared for me
The way of peace, of joy, of seeming loss but actually immortal gain.

Everyday the hand of my Father covers my head, marks my brow and says
“My child this is the way walk in it.”

Everyday if I take time to listen I will hear His voice and the truth will set me free.

  2. Liz, I am still meditating upon the revelation in those words. Feeding upon Him who is my only life. Bless you, Dennis!
